Lovely Clements Ribeiro

Well, New York, London and Milan fashion weeks have passed with barely anything that raised my eyebrow with interest. A year on from McQueen’s death it has become apparent the gaping hole he has left in fashion has exposed a distinctive lack of creativity and daring. Only two designers interested me in London, the first was Julien MacDonald. This surprised me as he’s usually known for dressing the backs of Cheryl Coleites rather than pushing fashion edges. He sent down a collection that was cohesive, interesting and nicely morbid.

Second was Clements Ribeiro who went under the media radar in the reportage. Facing financial difficulties, the duo were forced to stop trading a few years ago but I’ve always loved their slightly quirky, well cut and beautifully textured clothes. When they announced they were back on the scene I was quietly interested. F/W 11/12 showed how they had matured but most of all, I would just wear every single piece, all the clashing patterns and beautiful beadwork.  Here’s a couple.
